The Putnam Valley Central School District Board of Education announced that it has agreed to grant a leave of absence to Dr. Marc Space, for personal family reasons, for the remainder of the 2010-2011 school year. The leave of absence is effective August 28, 2010 through June 30, 2011, at which time Dr. Space’s service at Putnam Valley Central School District will end. The school board recognizes the contributions and improvements to the District that have been made during Dr. Space’s tenure as Superintendent. The Board of Education wishes Dr. Space success in his future endeavors.

Dr. Barbara Fuchs has been named Interim Superintendent. Prior to this appointment,
Dr. Fuchs has served as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Personnel in the District for the past six years.
